Old Port Candy Co. was established in 2002 and has been keeping Maine sweet for over 20 years!

 

Old Port Candy Co. is a family-owned candy shop located in the heart of Portland’s Old Port. We specialize in nostalgic, creative, and hard-to-find candy for customers of all ages. Our fresh fudge is made in-house, and we carry an ever-changing selection of classic flavors and delicious new creations. We also specialize in Maine confections! On a typical day in the shop, you’ll find many Maine-themed treats such as chocolate-covered blueberries, gummi lobsters, seasonally available salt water taffy, and maple sugar candy. Located in the historic waterfront district, Old Port Candy Co. has become a Portland, Maine staple for locals and tourists alike!

We enjoy connecting with our community and are proud to carry many local vendors, including Bixby Chocolate, La Nef Chocolate, Wilbur’s of Maine, Haven’s Candies, Maine Needham Company, Coastal Maine Popcorn Co., Maine Maple Products, and more!

We believe that candy is not just for kids! We’ve found that candy brings back nostalgic memories from childhood and can be a wonderful way to connect, celebrate traditions, and share new experiences with loved ones. Meet the family of Old Port Candy Co.!

Owner Anna Largay grew up in Essex Junction, Vermont, and has always been a self-proclaimed candy fanatic. After graduating from the University of Vermont, she moved to Maine in 1998 and opened Old Port Candy Co. in January 2002.

In 2010, Anna and her husband Tom opened their sister store, Old Port Card Works, located right around the corner from our flagship location. Anna and Tom live nearby and run both shops together while raising their two young children.

What hasn’t changed over the past 20 years? Our dedication to customer service and passion for curating the best confectionary products for our customers! We take pride in supporting local Maine businesses and carry confections made by Maine chocolatiers whenever possible, while also providing a variety of sweets from the world’s top brands.
